Director-Energy and Climate
Educational Qualification:
Master’s degree in Environmental Planning, Climate Policy, Sustainability, or Environmental Science; Certificates in risk analysis, MRV, and ESG and climate studies are advantages.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the sustainability field; it is desired to have worked on projects including corporate ESG disclosures (SR, IR, corporate ESG data analysis, KPI monitoring, etc.).
- Strong understanding of current and developing ESG practices and concepts across industries and regions; Knowledge of the ESG market in India and the surrounding area; Mastery over the progress of other data science abilities is a plus.
- Proposal and client management experience would be appreciated.
Purpose of role:
The role includes the development of a Climate Action Plan (CAP) for the city, and district and creating and implementing plans to lower a carbon footprint and lessen the risks associated with climate change. This role also includes organizing campaigns to advance green technology innovation, encourage sustainability, and guarantee that environmental laws are followed; Excellent virtual or in-person presenting abilities, with a solid grasp of deal dynamics for a particular project.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis on policies, trends, and best practices related to climate change at the local, national, and international levels.
- Encourage the creation and execution of projects and programs for addressing climate change, but not restricted to the use of renewable energy sources and carbon mitigation techniques.
- Evaluate the implications and vulnerability to climate change and develop strategies for adaptation at several levels (local, state, and national).
- Work together with governmental bodies, nonprofits, and other interested parties to promote efficient climate policies and initiatives.
- Help to plan outreach programs, workshops, and seminars and educate people about climate change and get a variety of audiences talking and doing something about it.
- Offer communities, companies, and institutions aiming to lower their carbon footprint and improve resilience to climate effects and vulnerabilities technical help and capacity-building assistance.
Stakeholders Management:
The candidate should make active communication with Government Agencies, Local bodies, Industrial Partners, Academic and Research Institutions, National and International Funders and Donors, International Organisations, Local Businesses, and other NGOs/ INGOs.
Salary:
Salary is negotiable and at par with the industry.
