About

Our Journey

CEED has an interesting saga even before its advent. Much before the name and organisation CEED formalised for leading the transformative works in the Indo-Gangetic plain, a team of young, passionate and highly motivated professionals started a public awareness on renewable energy through ‘Bihar Renewable Energy Development Support Network (BREDSN)’ in Bihar in 2010, which for the first time in the state created buzz around cleaner energy, particularly solar, and its decentralised models with the aim to promote energy access and climate solutions.

During BREDSN days, it was also observed that there was a lack of consistent effort on sustainable environment and cleaner energy models to drive changes in the region, and there was no such institution dedicated to bring these ideas on the ground and forge narratives and consensus among disparate stakeholders. Therefore, after careful consideration it was agreed and decided to start a new group to take these initiatives forward in a solution driven and collective approach, and this is how CEED was born!

CEED as an organisation with visionary goals and missionary zeals formally took shape in 2012 and it started functioning initially from Bihar and spread its wings to neighbouring states in the Indo-Gangetic region in later years. For the last 10 years, CEED has been actively promoting the issues of climate change, carbon neutrality, ambient air quality, energy transition and circular economy in the Indo-Gangetic plain, with focus on Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
