Ashwani has been trying to advance renewable energy and just transition nexus in India with a concentration on Indo-Gangetic regions to speed up social and economic development. He is in charge of CEED's Clean Energy division and works to activate the market, build coalitions, and raise awareness. He challenges the status quo in terms of sustainable energy service delivery to provide dependable, affordable access. He also makes the case for just transition and energy transition as a clean, sustainable, and affordable means of ensuring that everyone has access to energy and a sustainable way of life. Ashwani has more than 10 years of expertise in the energy and environmental sectors, with a stronger emphasis on the transition to clean energy.

He has a diverse experience base, having worked with government agencies, discoms, industry, and policy think tanks, and has been a pioneer in developing policies, regulations, schemes, and programs.

He is an Electrical Engineer with a masters in business administration specializing in Power Management from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, India.
