Dr. Devyani Sharma is a climate strategist and researcher with over 20 years of experience across climate policy, biodiversity, public health, and academic leadership. At CEED, she leads climate strategy initiatives focusing on Green Economy, SAPCC operationalization, resilience planning, NTFPs, and multi-stakeholder climate action.
She has previously contributed to the Chhattisgarh State Centre for Climate Change and the Chhattisgarh State Biodiversity Board, with work spanning traditional knowledge systems and ethnobotanical research. Her career includes research and academic leadership roles, along with early scientific experience at institutions such as BARC Mumbai and ICAR–NIHSAD.
Dr. Sharma holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and has advanced qualifications in climate change, GHG emissions, project management, and environmental management. She is the author of two books on traditional healing systems and a member of multiple IUCN Commissions. Her work bridges science, policy, and indigenous knowledge to advance climate resilience and nature-based solutions.
