Overview:

The Energy Specialist will be responsible for driving CEED’s energy initiatives, providing strategic direction, and ensuring effective implementation of program activities. The role demands a combination of technical expertise, leadership capability, and strong policy engagement to contribute to India’s sustainable energy future.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead research and policy analysis on clean energy, decarbonization strategies, and electricity sector reforms.
  2. Supervise and mentor researchers, ensuring methodological rigor and quality assurance in all deliverables.
  3. Guide the design and implementation of modeling scenarios and impact assessments to inform policy decisions.
  4. Monitor, evaluate, and report on developments in state and national energy policies, providing timely strategic inputs.
  5. Build and manage partnerships with government institutions, regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and civil society organizations.
  6. Develop high-quality publications, policy briefs, and technical reports to disseminate key insights.
  7. Represent CEED at national and international forums, presenting research findings and advocating for energy transition priorities.
  8. Organize and oversee stakeholder consultations, workshops, and capacity-building events.
  9. Contribute to program-level planning, budgeting, and monitoring processes.
  10. Support internal knowledge management and cross-program collaboration within CEED.
  11. Undertake field visits, consultations, and coordination activities across project geographies as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Graduate or postgraduate degree in Energy, Renewable Energy, Energy Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the energy/power sector, with a strong track record in clean energy, energy efficiency, and energy policy initiatives.
  3. Deep understanding of India’s energy transition landscape, electricity governance, and sustainable development frameworks.
  4. Proficiency in research and analytical tools, including cost-benefit analysis, policy modeling, and impact assessments.
  5. Advanced Excel skills are essential; working knowledge of Python, GIS, or Matlab is an added advantage.
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects, lead teams, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi; knowledge of regional languages is a plus.
  8. Willingness to travel and engage with diverse stakeholders including Government, policymakers, industry leaders, and communities.
Salary:
  • Salary is negotiable and at par with the industry.
