Overview:
The Energy Associate will play a critical role in advancing energy-related initiatives across various geographies of CEED’s work. The role involves implementing and supporting programs at various levels, conducting research on energy systems, leveraging Python-based tools and energy modeling, engaging with stakeholders, organizing capacity-building workshops, preparing reports, managing data collection and program implementation for sustainable energy solutions, and coordinating with government agencies to drive policy action.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, conduct, and execute research-based projects in the clean energy sector.
- Provide technical research support to energy programs, focusing on Renewable Energy & Power sector and Just Transition scenarios.
- Identify and implement research utilizing various tools and approaches in the Energy domain, with a particular emphasis on carbon reduction and hydrogen production/storage/utilization.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, networks, and alliances to develop issue positions, strategies, and intervention plans in the field of energy technologies.
- Utilize qualitative and quantitative research techniques, including data visualization and computational skills, to analyze and assess the potential of carbon and hydrogen solutions.
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering, with a specialization or coursework related to Energy.
- Graduate degree in economics, development economics, public policy, energy economics, or related disciplines (preferably with a Master’s degree) with a focus on carbon and hydrogen.
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience in the field, preferably carbon and hydrogen technologies, demonstrating project assistance and timely delivery of outputs.
Requirements and skills:
- Solid understanding of the renewable energy and power sector scenario in India.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with statistical tools like MATLAB, STATA, R, or Python which is preferred.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals/book chapters related to clean energy.
- Experience in networking with Government Departments/agencies, industries & business associations, and research institutions working in the energy sector is desirable.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality work in the field of carbon and hydrogen technologies.
- Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in an independent / interdisciplinary or multicultural environment.
Salary:
- Salary is negotiable and at par with the industry.
