The power sector is facing rapidly increasing demand due to wider usage of electrification in transportation, cooking, industries and other sectors. At the same time the power sector and Distribution Companies (Discoms) continue grappling with inefficient electricity tariff management and heavy AT & C losses adding to financial losses to the state exchequer.
Key Focus
CEED is working on multiple fronts to address inefficient legacy issues such as poorly targeted subsidies, polluting power generation practices and strengthening the power and renewable energy sectors.
CEED works closely with the nodal agencies of states in the Indo-Gangetic plain to develop and implement renewable energy capacity-building projects to move away from fossil fuel dependent power generation.
Through niche research and development, CEED provides innovative business solutions to increase the adoption of solar rooftop through net-metering, gross metering and other business models.
CEED also conducts regular awareness programmes to influence consumer behavioural patterns and promote efficient energy use plans.
