In order to provide energy to the millions of people who still lack access to it, encouraging Decentralised Renewable Energy (DRE) solutions in rural areas can help the local economy in the IGP region. Even in remote locations, DRE solutions can deliver clean, dependable, and high-quality energy at all times, fostering better health, education, agriculture and economic development.
Key Focus
Mini/Micro Grids for energy access
The capacity of decentralised grids is based on supply and demand, and they run on locally accessible raw materials. The system can be set up to optimise any rural activity, including home, commercial, and agricultural demands.
DRE for Agro Value Chain
CEED has made significant efforts to promote decentralised renewable models in the agriculture sector of Bihar and Jharkhand and it is working with the government agencies, think-tanks, civil society and industries to emulate this model in other parts of India.
DRE for Health Infrastructure
In order to revitalise the health care and delivery system, CEED is working to integrate the health and energy operations to create an enabling framework for expanding DRE in health institutions across the region.
DRE for Education and Development
CEED is promoting DRE based solutions in key sectors like education and development to promote economic growth via local entrepreneurship in rural and semi-urban areas through accessible and affordable energy.
