The energy supply in the Indo-Gangetic Plain is primarily dependent on conventional energy generation resources such as coal for electricity and biomass (firewood and charcoal) to meet the energy needs of millions of people in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. CEED works to green the economy by taking steps to complement India’s efforts to decarbonize its electricity sector.
Key Focus
CEED promotes the integration of more renewable energy capacity into India's power mix, improves the energy infrastructure and ensures that all households in the country have access to reliable electricity.
In the Indo Gangetic Plain, CEED has been instrumental in developing sustainable solutions and providing clean energy based research and advisory support to the government for greater penetration of clean energy.
CEED provides a comprehensive assessment of solar rooftop potential in order to uncover the solar rooftop potential of key urban centres in the Indo-Gangetic Plain.
CEED also provides guidelines and tools for increased investment in renewable energy at the state-level and supports clean energy innovation to boost rural income.
